Florence, SC – The ladies at Irby Senior Village have started a crocheting/knitting club and have teamed up with Tie One On Florence, a charity that provides cold weather accessories for the homeless. These items are put around town tied to trees, fences, etc. with a note stating “If you need it, it’s yours.” They are compiling a list of other charities so they can rotate their donations. The local yarn shop, Old South Yarnworks, has been very generous donating yarn and lending their time to help answers questions and to teach new stitches. The word has spread and these ladies are now being invited to other senior groups to teach them how to crochet and knit!
