Olde School Commons was originally built in 1923 as Garner High School.  This unique property operated as a school until 1992.  With plans to demolish these historic buildings, the Garner District Education and Recreation Foundation started a drive to save the school.  After an extensive interior renovation, it was reopened as Olde School Commons in 1998.  The Garner Historic Auditorium  (pictured above) run by the Town of Garner focuses on preserving the arts and being a service to the town of Garner.  The buildings that make up Olde School Commons are part of the Garner National Register Historic District.
